- The Ryukyuan languages spoken in Ryukyu Islands of Japan are known to have typologically rare word-initial geminates. However, the phonetic aspects of Ryukyuan languages are still scarcely documented in the literature. The current study investigates the acoustic correlates of manner, […]
- This study aims to clarify how the consistency between English primary stress patterns of which speakers are aware and those inferred from the acoustic properties in their speech differs among English native speakers (ENS), Tokyo/Keihan Japanese learners of English (JLE) […]
- Background: Speech disorders are amongst the first symptoms to appear in Parkinson's disease (PD). Objectives: We aimed to characterize PD voice signature from the prodromal stage (isolated rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder, iRBD) to early PD using an automated […]
- This paper describes a method for estimating the room impulse response (RIR) for a microphone and a sound source located at arbitrary positions from the 3D mesh data of the room. Simulat- ing realistic RIRs with pure physics-driven methods often […]

- Automatic speaker recognition (ASpR) has been integrated into critical applications, ranging from customised assistant services to security systems and forensic investigations. It aims to automatically determine whether two voice samples originate from the same speaker. These systems primarily rely on […]
- The growing use of voice user interfaces, from telephones to remote controls, automobiles, and digital assistants, has led to a surge in the collection and storage of speech data. While data collection allows for the development of efficient tools powering […]
