SAPEM 2026 – 8th Symposium on the Acoustics of Poro-Elastic Materials
The University of Gustave Eiffel and the Multi-Scale Modelling and Simulation laboratory are pleased to announce that the Eighth Edition of the Symposium on the Acoustics of Poro-Elastic Materials will take place from 16 to 20 November 2026

Since its first edition in Lyon in 2005, SAPEM has established a long-standing tradition of bringing together academics, students
and professionals to
- present the latest developments in modelling, characterization and applications of acoustic materials,
- highlight advances in adjacent disciplines,
- foster interdisciplinary communication, and
- discuss future challenges for this field of research.
The non-parallel sessions of this eighth edition will include:
- Sustainable development goals
- Characterization (at micro and macro scales); modelling; computational methods
- Materials with flow
- Structure-property-manufacturing relationships, bio-inspired, architected, sustainable; multi-functional; multi-physics
- Meta-materials/-structures: negative response functions, couplings, non-reciprocal, sorption…
Special attention will be paid to reserving time for discussion.
During the event, a fruitful poster session will be organized alongside the exhibition by our industrial partners.
Interested industrial partners are invited to contact us for the conditions of exhibition.
